Coconut Court Beach Hotel Guests pay US$36 pp. (regular price US$45); includes transport to and from hotel; Light refreshments and snack included

The island of Barbados has more than 70 miles (110 km) of pink and white sand beaches, which are made of coral reefs that have been ground into a very fine powder by the waves of the ocean. There are no private beaches on the island. Barbados beaches are truly some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean! Some of our personal favourites are Carlisle Bay, Miami Beach, Crane Beach, Batts Rock Beach, Bath Beach, Sandy Lane Beach, * Bottom Bay and * Cattle Wash Beach. * Located on the east coast and not safe for swimming.

When the sun goes down in Barbados, the fun continues! Barbados nightlife is extensive and varied and attracts a friendly mix of visitors and locals together. There is entertainment for everyone from historic dinner shows, romantic cruises, exquisite dining, no-frills rum shops, flashy cocktail bars, regular street parties, lively bars and nightclubs, with local bands and DJ's playing Calypso, Reggae, Soca & R&B. Barbados is without doubt one of the party capitals of the Caribbean!

Turtle Nesting

The months July through November are the traditional nesting months for the Hawksbill sea turtle. The stretch of beach from Coconut Court Beach Hotel and Needham's Point provides nesting habitat for over 300 critically Endangered (IUCN Red List Hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata), representing about one third of the total hawksbill nesting population in Barbados.

The Barbados Sea Turtle Project at the University of the West Indies deploys GPS equipment on the sea turtles in order to define the marine habitats used by these turtles and the routes they use to and from the beach. In order to deploy the equipment, the animal will be allowed to nest and then gently restrained using a high-sided, open-topped wooden enclosure. Deployments will occur within the vicinity of Coconut Court Beach Hotel and we thank you in advance for your cooperation in the conservation of this important turtle population.
